Silversten Family | Private Beach | New Buffalo, MI
Calm waters, an occasional breeze, and of course the humidity greeted us the night we met this beautiful family along the New Buffalo shore of Lake Michigan. The sun and sky changed drastically during our session. What started off as no clouds and bright sun, turned into the sun peeking through clouds. Blues and oranges took turns showing off with nearly every press of the shutter. Sometimes this can be a challenge to work with, but the results were beautiful!
The next sentence will come as no surprise because I’ve said it countless times, and I’ll continue to say it!! I meet some of the sweetest and best people around. Kate messaged me in June saying that her whole family would be in New Buffalo vacationing together and celebrating her parent’s 45th wedding anniversary. My heart skipped a beat reading her message. Y’all know how much I LOVE the celebration of legacy and family! We planned our session early in their stay because you know how Michigan and Indiana weather can be…I get pretty nervous about storms and rescheduling, and when families are coming from parts of Ohio and Illinois, I don’t like to take chances if I can help it! We couldn’t have picked a more beautiful time!
Smiling faces, a relaxed atmosphere, and the cutest cousins playing greeted us as we pulled into the driveway of their beautiful beach house! We chatted and took a stroll down to the water, and began shooting. Joy and I were amazed with the 9 kids (between the ages of 9 & 2) and their ability to follow direction SO well and never had any meltdowns! Still amazed! Kudos, Silversten parents, amazing job with your phenomenal kids. The ability to look at the camera or tickle grandpa when I asked is great, but more than that, they were so kind to Joy and I. In my opinion, that often speaks volumes about the parents.
Silversten Family, thank you SO much for inviting us into this time with your family! Your families are beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each of you! Perhaps we will meet again when the next couple is celebrating 45 years <3
