Warren Dunes was the perfect location for our session with the O’Brien Family. We started our shoot together along the creek in the woods, and ended our time along the Lake Michigan shore. We were greeted with gorgeous smiles, friendly faces, and a family that truly seemed to enjoy their time together! It was HOT + HUMID, but even Ava + Baby Leo handled it like champs!! 🙂
When Lyndsay first contacted me and shared that this session was a birthday gift for their mom, my heart melted! What an incredible gift to receive, especially when it’s from your kids! I adore family vacation sessions. Everyone is relaxed, you’re on vacation together because you WANT to be together, and you’re in a new place, soaking in the culture of that city, and creating memories as a family. I try to bring Aaron and William along when I can (or when Joy isn’t available), because while I’m off shooting and having fun, they are having fun skipping rocks together in the water. But my favorite part is after a session. I’m in a warm, family “vacation bubble,” and I sometimes feel like the vacation mindset has somehow transferred to me. I get to join Aaron and William for a little bit and enjoy the sunset together before we head back home. It’s a time to soak in the moments, and just hit ‘pause’ for a little while. We are so fortunate to live where we do!
I’ll never stop saying it, but I TRULY get to meet the greatest families. I love hearing about their lives, careers, passions, love story, etc., and this family was no different! Lyndsay and her family were an absolute joy to work with! If I wasn’t drenched in sweat climbing up and down those dunes at nearly 7 months pregnant, I would have hugged them all! 🙂
Mike + Laurie, you have an incredible and BEAUTIFUL family. In just the short amount of time I was able to spend with you, your kids, and sweet grandkids, it’s evident that you have truly done such a wonderful job! Thank you all for letting us be a part of this time with you, and for hitting ‘pause’ long enough to capture such a special time in your lives! It was an honor!
