My second shooter for the day, Teresa Schmidt Photography, met up with the guys getting ready at the hotel, while I met Megan at St. Peter Catholic Church. The room she got ready in was so calm. It was just Megan and her mom. I loved how cool and collected Megan was that day!! And how special to spend those moments with just your mom! What’s even more special? It was her parent’s 34th wedding anniversary. Cue heart-felt tears. Cue more tears when Megan’s dad saw her for the first time. So sweet, such a treasured moment!!
Their full mass ceremony at St. Peter Catholic Church was intimate, heart felt, warm, and beautiful. I always love watching the groom when he first sees his bride walking down the aisle. The responses are always so different, but the first sight always elicits an honest emotion. I always feel honored to have a front row seat to that!
After the ceremony, we took some time to shoot Megan + Phil with Mr. Blue; Megan’s dad’s 1954 Ford pickup. So fun! After shooting in a couple spots around La Porte, we headed to the reception at The Blue Heron.
Megan + Phil–I am so grateful to know you both!! I know we won’t be able to just ‘run into each other’ since you are living in Ohio, but I’m grateful that I get to do this with your family! (Recently I ran into Megan’s dad in town and it was like seeing an old friend…love our small town!) I truly hope for the best years to come for you both, and that one of these days our paths cross again! <3
